Please Hear Me began as my effort to tell what happened to me in my own words. It is my truth, and I want my voice to be heard. What began as my story inspired a larger hope: to create a place where survivors can be heard, respected, and connected to practical resources.
Where we are today
Please Hear Me is a new, independent survivor-centered project. This website shares its mission and resources. We are not yet a nonprofit, legal service, emergency-response organization, or established financial assistance program.
What I hope to build
I want to feature survivor stories shared voluntarily with careful attention to consent and privacy; make it easier to find advocacy, shelters, and legal information; and eventually build a transparent financial-assistance program. Those are goals, not services available today.
My path forward
I am rebuilding after domestic violence while dealing with legal expenses and financial instability. My personal GoFundMe fundraiser is for my own recovery and rebuilding. It is not a donation to an established survivor assistance fund.
Faith and hope
Scripture and reflection have become meaningful in my own life. Please Hear Me welcomes survivors of every faith and of no faith. Our planned collection of hopeful jewelry, clothing, and reflection items will include Scripture-inspired and nonreligious messages.
