I escaped domestic violence. I am now working to rebuild the life and financial independence I lost. I created Please Hear Me because I want to tell my story in my own words—and because, eventually, I want other survivors to have a place where their voices matter.
Why I need help now
After leaving an abusive marriage, I have been navigating legal proceedings across state lines while trying to cover essential living expenses, medical needs, transportation, and the cost of starting over. I have received some pro bono legal assistance, for which I am grateful, but there are still expenses I cannot meet alone.
I am working toward returning to financial independence through my career in medical imaging. Having employment does not instantly replace the savings, security, home, or resources lost during abuse.
Where donations go
My current GoFundMe has a $25,000 overall goal. Donations are intended to help me pay for legal representation and related filing or transcript costs, medical and recovery-related needs, transportation, basic living expenses, and rebuilding a safe, independent home. Actual expenses may change as legal proceedings and my circumstances develop.
What Please Hear Me is building
Please Hear Me is an early-stage, independent survivor-centered project. I want to create space for first-person stories, practical resources, and eventually a transparent survivor assistance fund. That fund does not exist yet. This personal GoFundMe benefits my rebuilding—not an established nonprofit or a program distributing donations to other survivors.
Other ways to help
Sharing the fundraiser or directing someone toward this site’s Resources & Support page also helps. If you aren’t able to donate, a share or a kind word matters.
I escaped the abuse. Now I need help escaping the financial consequences it left behind.
I found my voice. Now I want to help other women find theirs.
